Here's what's new

Meeting Changes for 2010

Beginning in 2010 our regular meetings will be held at 10:00 a.m. on the 1st SATURDAY OF THE MONTH at the Wanatah Town Hall.

The May meeting will be a breakfast meeting with the location to be named later.

The Annual Dinner meeting will be held on the 1st Sunday in November.

There will be no meetings in July and August.

We are planning to have a potluck dinner in the fall. Details will be announced at the September meeting.

Postcards from the Past

After two years of work, the Wanatah Historical Society postcard book has finally been published.

The beautiful all-color book contains 52 scenic Wanatah cards and 90 holiday greeting cards.

Every card in the book has some connection to Wanatah and its citizens. The original names, addresses and messages are included with every card.

The book was conceived and printed by our Society members, Audra Bailey Richardson, Jon Mack and Kathy Mack.

Download and print an Order Form to purchase your copy.

Can you help?

The Wanatah Historical Society is seeking these items for its collection:

  • Picture of the Coal Dock

  • "Cock of the Walk" flour sack

  • Information and photos about the Hobo Camp in Wanatah

  • Any old pictures tucked away in your attic, shoebox or album for loan or donation

Memorial Bricks

Orders for memorial bricks are now being taken for installation in the museum courtyard. Bricks are $60.00 each. They may be inscribed with either the donor's name or in memory of someone.
